Day Two - Renmark to Wudinna

Plan for Day Two was to do as much driving as possible, though we would still stop for things of interest along the way - after all, how often are we ever out this way?  We left Renmark and meandered through the 60-70-80-60-90-80-60km speed limits through the towns around Berri.  Very bumpy road too for a sealed road.
The day started out bright and sunny, so we took the opportunity to absorb some sunlight in the garden outside the Chocolate Cafe in Waikerie during the mid morning.
Of course, we had to stop for a photo opportunity at Morgan, which was a bit unique as a town because they still use a ferry 24/7 to transfer vehicles across the Murray rather than building a bridge.  Had lunch in Gladstone.
Came across a couple of guys on postie bikes out on the road, maxed out at 70km/h compared to our L/C's 110!  Then we came across another 3 postie bikes.  As we went past Burra there would have been about a hundred of the bloody things parked at an intersection waiting for the stragglers to arrive.  Bloody glad I didn't have to overtake all of them on the road.  Apparently they were part of "The Great Postie Bike Challenge" or something like that.
Gradually the weather got cloudier and eventually led to rain when we got to Port Augusta around 3pm.  Filled up at PA and continued heading west into the rain.  Lots of cars on the A1, but thankfully most of them turned off south for Port Lincoln.
We cranked up our immaturity levels when I had to stop at Iron Knob for a pee.  The mine mustn't be very profitable if someone is labelling them as "Lossers".  Beware of the emus in the main street too.  Strange place.  During our 15 minute visit we only saw one living soul: a black cat.
There was no chance in driving past Kimba without stopping.  There aren't too many "big" items on the side of the road that we'll stop for.  Even the Big Orange in Berri was closed.  No more souls to be seen here either late on a Sunday afternoon (except for a creepy guy in an akubra who did a big loop around us). Then we heard this "Hewwo" come from a distance.  We found a Cocky in his cage, quite happy to say hello, but not very happy to say bye bye.
We pushed on to Wudinna for another caravan park cabin - $130!!!  Will be glad to start camping on our shorter drives, which starts tomorrow.
Tomorrow we'll check out Pildappa Rock and the Gawler Ranges, then make tracks for Ceduna.  Got a few items we want to purchase in Ceduna before heading remote and away from the services of main towns.
Cheers,
Simon.

Hehe... (Some knob can't spell 'Loser' either)
Main street of Iron Knob. Watch out for emus.
